About Us

New Frontier is the Northern California and Northern Nevada region of USY and Kadima, one of 15 different regions in USY-the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism (USCJ) youth movement.

Over the course of the year, New Frontier runs several events and conventions helping Jewish teens come together and form strong, lasting, friendships. Although we are affiliated with the Conservative Movement, we welcome any Jew who would like to participate. The region was founded in 1966 and has been educating, engaging, inspiring, and caring for USYers across Northern California and Northern Nevada ever since.

Every year, the New Frontier region runs three conventions. Each convention has a unique theme and most often includes a Social Action/ Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) event/project. Our conventions also include religious themes to help grow our USYers religious identity, and Israel based programs to help strengthen our connection with Israel. The purpose of our conventions is to bring all of the Jewish teenagers in the region together for a weekend to celebrate their Judaism, make life-long friends, and of course have fun!
